Coated Gaskets
Product description
Coated Gaskets are produced with a special PTFE coating. This application can be extended to many rubbery substrates: O-rings, diaphragms, valve seats, plates and many other technical items. The coating (approx. 20 microns) provides protection against chemicals, acids and solvents, while the elastomer core ensures the retention of elastic memory. The PTFE coating has 100 per cent adhesion to all types of materials (except silicone) and provides at least 150 per cent elasticity, the same elastic rebound as the coated substrate. The product is suitable for food contact in compliance with FDA regulations. The elastomers that form the core of the gasket can be NBR, VITON® or EPDM. The gaskets are suitable for use in critical situations and the advantages of using these products over traditional elastomer O-rings include higher thermal resistance and better chemical compatibility. Possible uses include contact with foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals and medicines, thanks to the low coefficient of friction, anti-adhesion and low vapor and gas permeability. Working temperatures vary depending on the gasket core material.
